HOW LONG IS THE PREORDER OPEN?

Our preorders are open from the 1st of the month until the last day of that month unless we sell out early.  If we sell out early we will do our best to restock however we cannot guarantee this will be an option.
Please refer to any specific preorder closing dates that have been communicated either on our website or on our social media for our Event Exclusive preorders.

CAN I ORDER MORE THAN ONE BOX OR EVENT EXCLUSIVE?

Our boxes and Event Exclusives are limited to one per household address during the open preorder window unless otherwise expressly stated. Duplicate orders will be cancelled at our discretion

CAN I PURCHASE JUST ONE BOOK FROM A BOX?

All boxes will originally be sold as a complete box as per the individual box description. However, we may, at our discretion, list any single books for purchase if we have remaining individual inventory.

ARE YOUR BOOKS HAND SIGNED?

Yes!  Our monthly featured author boxes are all hand signed. Unfortunately there may be extenuating circumstances where a bookplate will be provided instead. A change from hand signed to provided bookplate will be communicated via our socials and amended product description. 

Event Exclusive Editions will not be hand signed unless clearly stated on the listing description.

CAN I SKIP A MONTH OF MY SUBSCRIPTION?

Yes!  We allow 4 non-consecutive skips per calendar year without penalty. You can skip a box through your account portal or email us at themidnightbookshelf@gmail.com.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Yes! In addition to shipping Canada wide, we also ship to the USA, Australia and to the UK.

WHEN WILL MY BOX SHIP?

All of our boxes and books are printed on a preorder basis. We aim to ship approximately 75-90 days from the date the preorder closes on the last day of that given month (unless otherwise stated).  Please note that printing delays may happen and they are out of our control.  We will keep you apprised of any shipping delays in our Facebook chat group, on our Instagram account, and on our Shipping Updates page.

WILL I RECEIVE TRACKING?

Yes!  We proudly ship all of our boxes through Canada Post and Purolator.  You will be provided with a tracking number via email confirmation that your order has shipped.  

CAN I CHANGE MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?

Yes, with limits. We will update any shipping address, however, it is your responsibility to update us of any address change prior to order fulfillment. We will only update the address, not the name of the receiver. Address changes must match the original receiver country.

Once an order has shipped any associated fees or costs to reroute and/or redirect your order will be your sole responsibility. Any order returned to us for any reason will be subject to an additional shipping fee to be collected should the order be shipped again. This order will not be reshipped until the secondary shipping fee is received by us. Should you not wish to have your order reshipped we will designate your order as abandoned and no refund will be offered.

WHAT ABOUT DUTIES AND TAXES?

All of our boxes are shipped with customs declarations where required. We are not responsible for any duties or customs or taxes due payable when you receive your order. Should your order be returned to us because of non-payment of duties/customs/taxes we will cancel your orders indefinitely.

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

Yes, with limits.  You must submit an email to us within 3 days of your purchase date that you would like to cancel your
order.  After that time all sales are final.  Please note that we are not able to process returns and exchanges will be made on an individual basis at our discretion.

WHY WAS MY ORDER CANCELLED?

We as a Canadian business reserve the right to cancel any order, at any time, at our sole discretion.  Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.

MY BOOK APPEARS DAMAGED!

Please provide us with clear pictures via email to themidnightbookshelf@gmail.com so that we can assess the perceived damage.  Please note that imperfections on the spine do not constitute damage and will not be replaced.  Any books deemed to be needing replaced will need to be shipped back to us.  Our return address will be provided via email.
